# Advanced Analytical Tools for Smarter Trading Decisions

> FORXEA's analytical tools include interactive charts, technical indicators, real-time data overlays, and market trend analysis to support informed trading.

FORXEA's analytical tools give you the data depth and visual clarity needed to make confident trading decisions. Whether you rely on technical analysis, fundamental data, or a combination of both, the platform puts the right information directly on your chart — updated in real time, with no manual refreshing required. Every tool is built to work together so your analysis flows naturally from one stage to the next.

## Interactive Charts

Charts are the heart of your analytical workspace. FORXEA supports three primary chart types, selectable from the toolbar above any chart panel:

* **Line chart** — Plots closing prices over time. Ideal for a clean, high-level view of long-term trends.
* **Candlestick chart** — Displays open, high, low, and close for each period. The default view for most active traders.
* **Bar chart** — Similar to candlestick but rendered as vertical bars with left and right ticks for open and close prices.

Select your timeframe using the timeframe bar at the top of the chart. Available intervals include **1m**, **5m**, **15m**, **1H**, **4H**, **1D**, and **1W**. Click any interval to switch instantly without losing your current indicator configuration.

Use your mouse scroll wheel to zoom in and out on the price axis. Click and drag horizontally to pan back through historical data. Double-click the chart to snap the view back to the current candle.

<Info>
  FORXEA stores up to two years of historical data for most instruments. Availability may vary for less-liquid markets.

## Technical Indicators

Add technical indicators to any chart from the **Indicators** menu in the chart toolbar. Type an indicator name in the search field, select it from the list, and configure its parameters in the settings panel that opens automatically.

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Simple Moving Average (SMA)">
    Plots the average closing price over a defined number of periods as a smooth line on your chart. Use SMA to identify the general direction of a trend and spot potential support or resistance levels. Commonly applied with periods of 20, 50, and 200.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Exponential Moving Average (EMA)">
    Similar to SMA but gives greater weight to recent price data, making it more responsive to new information. EMA is popular for identifying trend direction in faster-moving markets. The 9-period and 21-period EMAs are widely used for short-term signals.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Relative Strength Index (RSI)">
    An oscillator that measures the speed and magnitude of recent price changes on a scale of 0 to 100. Readings above 70 are traditionally considered overbought, while readings below 30 suggest oversold conditions. RSI appears in a separate panel below your main chart.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence)">
    Tracks the relationship between two EMAs (typically 12-period and 26-period) and plots the difference as a line alongside a signal line and a histogram. Crossovers between the MACD line and the signal line are commonly used as buy or sell signals.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Bollinger Bands">
    Plots three lines around a central SMA: an upper band and a lower band set at a defined number of standard deviations from the middle line. When price moves outside the bands, it can signal unusual volatility or a potential reversal. Bands widen during volatile periods and contract during consolidation.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Volume">
    Displays the number of units traded in each period as a histogram at the bottom of the chart. Volume confirms the strength of a price move — a breakout accompanied by high volume is generally considered more reliable than one on low volume.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

<Note>
  Indicator availability may vary depending on the market or instrument type. Some indicators are not available for certain asset classes due to differences in underlying data. Check the Indicators menu for the full list available for your selected instrument.

## Market Trend Analysis

FORXEA's trend overview feature gives you an at-a-glance read on market direction without requiring you to configure indicators manually.

Open the **Trend Panel** from the right side of the chart toolbar. For your selected instrument and timeframe, FORXEA displays a directional signal — **Bullish**, **Bearish**, or **Neutral** — derived from a combination of moving averages and momentum data. Support and resistance levels calculated from recent price history are highlighted directly on your chart as horizontal zones, giving you context for where price may react.

Use the trend overview as a starting point for deeper analysis, not as a standalone trading signal. Combine it with your preferred indicators and your own market knowledge before making any trading decision.

## Real-Time Data Overlays

Overlay live market events directly onto your charts to understand the context behind price moves.

Enable the **News Overlay** from the chart toolbar to display news headline markers at the exact point on the timeline where a story was published. Click any marker to read the headline and a brief summary without leaving the chart. This helps you quickly connect price spikes or drops to specific catalysts.

Enable the **Economic Calendar Overlay** to show scheduled macro events — such as interest rate decisions, employment reports, and GDP releases — as vertical markers on your chart. Each marker is colour-coded by the expected impact level: low, medium, or high. Hover over a marker to see the event name, release time, and previous and forecast values.

## Exporting Data

Export chart data or your trade history at any time for use in external analysis tools or for record-keeping.

To export chart data, right-click anywhere on the chart and select **Export Chart Data**. Choose your date range and click **Download** to receive a CSV file containing the open, high, low, close, and volume data for each period in your selected timeframe.

To export trade history, navigate to the **Portfolio View**, open the **History** tab, apply any filters you need, and click the **Export** button in the top-right corner of the panel. Your filtered history downloads as a CSV file immediately.
